Barley
Laperouse has a medium plant height and offers very good standability with low incidence of lodging and head-loss. This variety is mid maturing but does also offer the potential for early sowing. Laperouse is also currently undergoing Stage 2 of the malting and brewing accreditation.
Released by Intergrain, Maximus CL is a malt accredited Clearfield Barley that is high yielding and quick-mid maturing. Maximus CL offers strong lodging tolerance and low-medium head loss risk, as well as an improved disease resistance package.
Released by AGT, Yeti is an early maturity line that has had exceptional yield performance in the northern region. With a shorter plant height, Yeti has shown low levels of lodging compared to other varieties.
Yeti is currently deliverable as a “Barley/Feed” type but has entered the Australian malt accreditation program.
Neo CL is an exceptionally high yielding barley, suited to medium to high production environments. Neo CL is a mid-spring maturity, Imi-tolerant barley with good tolerance to lodging and excellent disease resistance to Powdery Mildew and Spot Form Net Blotch with improvements over RGT Planet for Net Form Net Blotch, Scald and grain plumpness.
Chickpeas
PBA Drummond is an improved desi chickpea variety that has been proven to be particularly successful in central QLD. PBA Drummond is a tall, erect and lodging resistant variety, that offers seed quality similar to PBA HatTrick.
CBA Captain is a broadly adapted desi chickpea variety for the naorther region and other chickpea growing areas of Australia. CBA Captain has a medium seed size and has shown to have higher yields in northern NSW & southern QLD than PBA HatTrick.
Mung Beans
Jade-AU is a large seeded bright green Mungbean that is broadly adapted to the northern region. It is suitable for both spring planting (September/Early October) and conventional summer planting (December/January).
Crystal is a large-seeded bright green Mungbean that has the best available combined suite of resistance to Powdery Mildew, Tan Spot and Halo Blight among the current varieties. It is suitable for both spring and summer planting.
Satin II is a dull-seeded line providing growers with superior seed quality with increased seed size and improved evenness of seed colour size and shape. Satin II possesses 20% increased yield potential over its predecessor ‘Satin’ and has improved disease resistance to both Powdery Mildew and Tan Spot.
Onyx is a black gram variety for niche pulse markets. Onyx reaction to halo blight is superior to current large green-seeded Mungbean varieties.
Oats
Released by Pacific Seeds, Sabre is a new variety that is suitable for all classes of livestock, hay, or silage production. A late maturing oat variety that offers full rust resistance, Sabre is ideal for an early planting window that will provide high quality autumn feed. Sabre has very good early growth with high dry matter yields that are superior when compared to Drover.
A new fast maturity oat variety released by Pacific Seeds, Raptor offers a broad planting window due to its quick growth. With excellent early growth, and high dry matter yields superior to Comet, Raptor is suitable for all classes of livestock, hay, or silage production.
Drover is a medium-late maturing line released by Pacific Seeds. As a grazing oat with very good post grazing recovery, Drover is suitable for all classes of livestock, hay or silage.
Wheat
Sundancer is a mid-slow maturing variety similar to LRPB Lancer but slightly quicker in late sowing or stressed conditions. Sundancer is a high yielding variety with excellent yield stability. Sundancer has an excellent rust resistance package and a longer coleoptile than similar maturing varieties.
Leverage is a mid-slow maturing variety, suited to late April / early May plantings, Leverage is an upgrade from the EGA Gregory line of breeding with improvements in plant type, disease resistance and grain yield. Closely related to Coolah, Leverage offers high yield with a shorter plant type and improved stripe rust resistance. Leverage has very good physical grain characteristics and an attractive provisional MR-MS rating to yellow leaf spot
A new APH variety released by AGT that shares a similar slow maturity and plant height to Lancer, but with 10% higher yield. With excellent lodging resistance and adaptability across different soil types, Coota is a variety that can be relied upon.
Sunmax is an APH variety with a long season maturity that is best suited to mid-April plantings. Released by AGT, Sunmax offers good stem and stripe rust resistance and has yielded higher than similar maturing varieties across northern NSW and southern QLD.
Sunmaster is an APH quality classified variety that offers strong yield performance when compared to other established varieties in the northern region. With a similar maturity and planting window as Suntop, Sunmaster also has good tolerance to Crown Rot and RLN.
Release by AGT, Sunblade CL is Australia’s first APH quality Clearfield variety that is derived from Suntop, with a similar maturity and higher yields. Sunblade CL is tolerant to Clearfield Intervix herbicide and has good levels of RLN tolerance.
Lancer has an excellent reputation for delivering at harvest. Lancer has a shorter canopy height with good resistance to lodging, in addition to an APH classification in the Northern Zone and South Eastern Zones. The variety has a mid to late maturity that is responsive to temperature and has an excellent grain package with good protein delivery, reliable grain size and low screenings. This variety has a solid disease package, performing well under crown rot pressure in particular.
Hellfire is a quick maturing line released by Pacific Seeds that offers a standout grain package. With a medium plant height and good standability, Hellfire offers strong yield performance and has APH classification in NSW & QLD.
Stealth is high and stable yielding variety released by Pacific Seeds, with APH classification in NSW & QLD. With good Crown Rot resistance and a solid disease package, Stealth is suitable for all growing areas in NSW & QLD. Stealth is a medium plant height and slow-spring maturing variety with a planting window from late April to early May.
Raider is a slow spring maturing variety suitable for early to mid-season planting throughout NSW and QLD. Raider is a high yielding variety showing stable yield performance across a wider sowing window and offering a secure disease and grain package suitable for all production environments. Raider provides growers with greater flexibility without compromising on yield performance.
Tracer is a new high yielding mid maturity variety suitable for main season seeding opportunities across NSW and QLD. Tracer has a good disease package for Northern production systems with excellent RLN (p.thornei) tolerance, combined with a compact canopy to aid in stubble management.
