We pride ourselves on our trusted reputation for quality and delivery excellence
It all began in the early 1950s, when we commenced production of winter and summer crops on our original property Billa Billa in southern Queensland. Since that time, we’ve expanded significantly and helped pioneer best practice crop management techniques to produce high-yielding, export-ready crops.
In 2001, we entered an exciting new phase with the purchase of a grain processing and storage facility in the town of Goondiwindi. Now comprising of six vertically integrated business divisions with a focus on industry innovation and product differentiation, we’re at the forefront of meeting global demand for premium Australian-grown pulses, grains and associated food products.
Drawing on our rich history, but always looking forward, our focus on research and development is planting the seed of innovation for generations to come. We continue to explore new opportunities to advance Australia’s agricultural industries and meet the nutritional demands of more families around the world.
Woods Group is continuously securing sustainability through product innovations such as Algae Pharm, pulse breeding and new product development including plant protein sources.
At Algae Pharm we utilise the waste stream of CO2 and introduce it into our feed, where the algae consumes it and then releases Oxygen into the atmosphere, resulting in a positive impact on the environment whilst producing a drought resilient crop. Another Algae Pharm positive contribution to the environment is the utilisation of non-potable water with the majority of production water being recycled.
Woods Pastoral carries out crop rotation practices that conserves soil moisture and improves soil health, as well as zero till farming that reduces disease in crop, reduces weed herbicide resistance and reliance on fertiliser and improves soil health.
At our Woods Stockfeeds Feedmill we utilise food waste products into the manufacturing of our stockfeed, therefore, reducing the impact on landfill.
We have a significant solar installation of 1.4MW to reduce demand on the power network and reduce our carbon footprint.
Over the years we have supported many community events and clubs in the local areas in which we operate including schools, sporting teams, charities and other agricultural events.
Our mission is to grow our people, continuously improve and add value for our customers to create a sustainable future with the vision of growing regional Australia by feeding the world.
Here at Woods Group, we consider our people to be our greatest asset and continuously invest in our team as part of our focus on providing added value to our customers.
Our experienced and dedicated team enjoy a wide variety of roles, full training, and opportunities to innovate and grow with the business, as well as work in some of the best locations across Queensland including Goondiwindi, Dalby, Toowoomba, Emerald and the Burdekin in North Queensland.
